Halloween is Almost Here

I just had to stop and see this haunted house.

There seem to be warning signs everywhere.

Look a skeleton bride and groom, lets get a photo.

I Wonder if I can get a piece of candy from this witch?

More haunting pictures to come.

It's my party

What a wonderful party. Fievel, Wally, Whinnie, Hammy, Mini Don, Froggy and Waylin came. Aunt Donna even stopped by. We had cake and punch. I passed out pull tabs to all of the guests. We watched the movie Haunted House and played games. I had a lighted tiara and a birthday girl ribbon.
I got lots of neat presents. I got cars, a sled, new shoes (moccasins), and a swing.
Waylin said pile on and i'll pull you around so you can try out your new sled. Boy will it be fun this winter.
My swing can be used in the house or on our back deck next summer.

The Clark Tower

Here is a plaque on the front of a tower in Madison county. They have the same last name as me.

Isn't it a pretty tower. If you look way up at the top, you will see me. It is a long way up. There is a set of stiars that go about half way up from the outside, then you climb a ladder that is almost straight up and down. The roof is like a big round patio. When you get there you can see a far away.

I like the way it is made out of stone. The window shapes are cool.

Hang gliding

I decided to get in some hang gliding time before winter sets in. I started on the roof.
(with my Dorothy shoes on)
Dad said watch out for the tree.
A nice safe landing.
( Mom had a hard time getting pictures while I flew around the yard)

A little piece of history

While on one of our recent road trips, we got so see a little piece of history. This is a 1954 Piper Apache. The Apache was Pipers first all metal plane. It was also Pipers first twin engine model. It was also the first in a series to be named after an American Indian Tribe.
An awful lot of firsts for this plane. It is being restored by a man in Winterset.
I even got to sit in the pilots seat. I wonder what it was like in 1954.

I think i'd better get some hay at home. Do you think this one will hold me for the winter?

Boats

I had a chance to do some boat shopping. This one is very nice, but pricey.
I liked this one. A little more affordable.
I think this is the one. I like the green one better than the yellow.

John Wayne

We went to Winterset the other day and got to stop and see John Wayne's birthplace.
He was a great actor. Mom likes to have John Wayne marathons. We watch as many of his movies as we have time for on a weekend. I like so many of them, it's hard to pick a favorite. Do you have a favorite John Wayne movie?
There was even a party van that was donated to his museum. It was cool. The windows were etched to finish the scenes painted on it. There are even real horse shoes set in the running boards.

pumpkin painting

I decided to try my hoof at pumpkin painting. Mom put down a drop cloth and got the paints and brushes I would need. I had 3 designs picked out and settled on the one called ghost story. After transfering the design, I started to paint. The hardest part was waiting for the paint to dry so I could go on to the next color.
Here it is all finished. What do you think?

Fish Tanks

Dad said I could have an aquarium. I asked about one like this. He said not quite that big, he didn't want us to have to build another room on our house. Wouldn't it be neat to have a wall of a room like this? While we were looking at it, a fish jumped and splashed water on my Dad. Mom and I laughed. Those fish were amazing.

Getting ready for winter

We have been busy at home getting our home and yard ready for winter. I figured it was time to stop by and see my friend Beauregard Bear before he hibernates. He has this nice cave. He has fattened himself up and is ready for a long winters nap. He promised to stop by and visit me next spring. Goodnight Beauregard.
P.S. I have a big surprise for tomorrow.

I took a walk

I like to take a stroll when the weather is nice. I ran into Drema deer, by a cornfield. She is so pretty. She told me she was having her supper. I told her to be sure and look both ways before crossing the highway. She said she would be very careful. Do you like to take strolls?

I love old cars

Do you like old cars?
My Aunt Donna has a neat old car.
It is a 1949 Chevy.

She takes it to car shows and parades.
Maybe I can go with her sometime.
I like an automatic, cause it's easier to drive.
Mom got me a booster seat, so I can sit on
something besides a box.

Helping Dad

I decided to keep Dad company in his store. A person came in and tanned. I asked Dad if I could clean the tanning bed. He said sure. After I got finished I put the cleaned sign back in the bed and waited for the next customer at the desk. I even watered the ivy we have out there. It really likes it when the tanning beds put out their light.
