American Gothic

I bet you all recognize this photo!
Grant Wood made that famous painting of
American Gothic in 1930.
If your ever in Iowa, stop by and
see the Gothic House. It is worth the trip.
Every day we drive by Eldon,
Today we got to stop and see the Gothic house.
Wally and I dressed in black to parody the painting.

Here are carvings of the people.

This set is definitely modern Gothic.

It happened...

... my sunflowers have started to bloom.
I just love sunflower seeds,
I hope I can get some before all the birds eat them.

Mom said I needed ...

...to wash my face.
I asked if I could use some of her stuff and do a facial,
she said yes, but I still had to wash my face first.

I went for a walk ...

and found these pretty flowers.
I picked as many as I could carry.
Wild flowers are my favorite.
I don't know what they are all called,
I should google them and find out.

Is this art?

At the hospital they have all sorts of what "they"
call art. I like this glass do-dad the best.

At the hospital

While waiting for Dad to get his treatment today, the nurses took me into the playroom.
I got to play a Sar Wars video game and

Read a book,
I don't know what this was, but it was fun.

The controls on the table moved things in the tank.

The magnets on this table moved frogs, lizards and cars around under the glass.

They had lots of pillows to sit on or to rest if you are tired.

For a hospital it was a very inviting kids room.

This is a 1925-29 Seagrave fire truck made in Columbus, Ohio.
The company that made it started in 1891 and is still in business today.
We looked it up on Google, very interesting.

It was really neat to play on.
I wonder what this is for.
Look at all these levers.
They must have had smaller buildings in those days

'cause it had no ladders and not much hose.

Dad teased me...

... he said he was going to run me up the flag pole.

I helped my Dad raise the flag this morning.

Happy fourth everyone

Sunflowers growing

I have been trying to get out & enjoy the cooler weather.
My sunflowers have sure liked the rain.
I think it is amazing you can grow such a big
flower from a small seed.
